The AS-11 is a standard specification for media conforming and packaging, adopted by most UK broadcasters.
It is the result of a joint product development called DPP – The Digital Production Partnership and is made up of the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, with support from Sky and BT Sport to help broadcasters benefit from file-based/digital programme delivery.
The DPP works closely with trade bodies such as AMWA (Advanced Media Workflow Association) in the US, EBU (European Broadcasting Union), UK Screen (Post Production representatives) and the PMA (Production Managers Association) to articulate the needs of the UK TV production industry.
This standard has also been adopted by many broadcasters in other countries, either in its entirety or simply in its core media features, adding and/or removing requirements to suit their specific needs.
The AS-11 is a media package containing broadcast ready material as well as compliance certificates.
