The following applies to all DCP’s we provide.
We encode from any file based source material.
DCDM’s are the preferred choice for source and it will achieve the best picture quality. Our second option of choice is QT ProRes4444, followed by QT ProRes422HQ.
Although all file types are accepted.
Colour space conversion to DCI-XYZ, picture upscale/downscale, adding an audio mix, it being 5.1/7.1 or Dolby Atmos, adding Subtitles and assets for Access Services are all included in the price.
Please note that we do not create subtitles or assets for access services but will include them in the package if provided to us.
Audio upmix from Stereo to 5.1 available for a small fee.
DCP encryption service available.
With the encryption, we offer 3 KDM’s free of charge.
Each finished DCP goes through a rigorous DCI compliance check, including DCP validation & checksums + a Cinema Server ingest complete with a 3-point playback test.

All HDD’s are formatted as per DCI requirement and every copy goes through validation checksums to ensure every single file within the DCP package has fully transferred across. Each drive is connected into one of our Cinema Servers for an ingest and playback test.

Supplemental DCP’s
Version File (VF) SMPTE packages, professionally mastered to DCI standard.
Supplemental packages or “Version Files” can be created to playback in tandem with the OV DCP. Ideal for different languages (audio/subtitles), different audio mixes, different edits, etc.

KDM’s.
If you have opted to have your DCP encrypted then “Key Delivery Messages” (KDM’s) are required to unlock encrypted DCP’s.
A KDM is only necessary if you choose to encrypt your DCP.
Each KDM enables one version of the DCP to play on a target playback device for a limited duration, which could be hours, weeks, or months.
With every DCP encryption service we offer 3 KDM’s free of charge.

DKDM’s

DKDM’s allow your preferred vendor or film distributor to take over KDM generations.
Please note that we do not offer 24/7 support.
All KDM’s are provided during normal business hours in UK time. If you require 24h support we can generate a DKDM for a distributor of your choice to generate your KDM’s.
HFR DCP’s
Frame rates above 48fps are referred to as HFR or High Frame Rate.
Not all digital cinema servers support high frame rates. Please check the server’s/manufacturer’s specification before dispatching DCPs at frame-rates other than 24 and 48fps.
HFR are only available on SMPTE packages and can be encoded at 48, 50, 60 or 120fps.

DCDM
A Digital Cinema Distribution Master is a16 bit TIFF sequence.
It is usually a pre-stage format in the process of creating a DCP. The DCDM is often archived, to act as a source format for future purposes, such as remastering for ancillary markets or for localised versions.
If your DCP did not originate from a DCDM and you’d like to have one for archival purposes then we could reverse the process and create one using your DCP as source, or alternatively from a higher quality master, if available.
